Faith Fact- Where Your Treasure Is...

Jesus said "Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." When we treasure something in our hearts, we give everything we have for it. We give our time, talent, and treasure. Our time is the literal hours of the day we have to spend. Our talent are those God-given abilities we have and can use to serve. Our treasure are those things we've accumulated in this life, especially our money.

The hope is that we will give all these things out of our love for Jesus Christ. The church is what represents Jesus to us, and for many this church, St. Paul's, has been a good and faith representative to our Lord Jesus Christ. Many write with fond memories of this place. Many have chosen to be buried here after years of living elsewhere. They still feel this is their home. Many continue to give their money to support St. Paul's, just as many of you here do, and I hope will continue to do.

My hope is that in our love for Jesus Christ, and for St. Paul's, extends to the wider Episcopal Church as well, especially for our Diocese here in Alabama. Our Diocese has shown their love and support to us specifically here at St. Paul's. Without diocesan help, I would not be here. The Diocese has even continued to show their support to us by helping fund my salary. We have benefited so much from our Diocese's love. Please consider showing that love back so that other churches like ours can receive support as well.

Our love for Christ Jesus is often centered around St. Paul's, but it doesn't have to be centered around here solely. St. Paul's is an Episcopal Church. St. Paul's has had a long history from the very start as a faithful member of the Diocese of Alabama. Help us to continue to be faithful. Help us to continue to treasure Jesus, St. Paul's, our Diocese, and all the other Episcopal Churches we are bound together in ministry and in our hearts.
