Faith Fact- Outline of Faith

We've been going over The Outline of Faith in The Book of Common Prayer with those who are getting ready to be received into The Episcopal Church this summer. The Outline of Faith is in the form of Questions and Answers. This format is very much fitting with our reading from John for the Second Sunday of Easter. Most have used this as a passage to mock those who doubt and don't have faith. But in fact, Thomas is the first, through his doubting, to realize that Jesus is his "Lord and God".

Doubting, or asking questions, isn't a bad thing. In fact it can lead us to more knowledge about God and our Faith. That is what we are all looking for, a deeper and richer understanding of God in our relationship with Him. Don't hold back. Ask your questions. Grow in your faith. Use our Outline of Faith. That is what it was meant for. It is a starting point as we continue to each grow in our understanding and relationship with God.
