Faith Fact- Holy Innocents

On December 28, we celebrate the feast day of the Holy Innocents. These are the children who were murdered by Herod in his attempt to kill the baby Jesus, as chronicled in Matthew 2:16.

The Holy Innocents are a reminder of two things. They remind us that there is evil in the world that causes innocents to suffer. The Holy Innocents also remind us that God loves each and everyone of us, and that there is hope in the world to come where there will be no more suffering or weeping.

The Holy Innocents are an important part of the story of Jesus and of our faith. Let's remember them on this 4th day of Christmas.
