Reflection for Wednesday in Week 3 of Easter, Year 1

Reading for the Day:
Reflection:

Jesus often provides an example for us of how to live and how to do ministry, and He does so today in our Gospel reading.

Jesus, in His time in Capernaum, the home of His disciple Peter, finds many who come to Him for healing. So He spends the day healing others.

The day ends, and Jesus goes by Himself, as He often does to pray. The people come to Him and want Him to say, but Jesus says He must go to other places. It is His purpose.

We too are called to be prayerful as we consider God’s Will. We too are called to go in the direction God has intended for us.

Whether it is ministry in our own churches or the ministry of the church as a whole, we are called to go where God wants us to go. We are called to minister to the people God wishes us to minister to. That might be people in our hometown or the areas around us. Either way, we must be willing to listen to God and follow His Will, just as Jesus did. As long as we do that, we will be okay and we will see the fruits of our labor flourish.
