Jesus says "If you knew me, you would know my Father also." That means if we want to know who God is, we first need to look at Jesus.
Think about what words come to mind when you think of Jesus. Whatever those words are, that gives us a sense of who God is.
One of the answers to who God is comes from the very beginning of the passage when Jesus says, "I am the light of the world." Because that is who Jesus is, that is also who God is. All we have to do to figure out who God is is to look at Jesus.
