The Gospel according to Mark has two great examples of Jesus taking personal time to build up His relationship with God.

Towards the beginning of the book, Jesus has just finished healing a great deal of people. The morning after, Jesus goes off on His own to a "deserted place" in order to pray. Unfortunately, Jesus doesn't get a lot of time on His own since the Disciples come searching for Him.

Another time we see Jesus taking personal time for prayer is in the Garden of Gethsemane shortly before His death. There, Jesus prays to God discerning the next step of His journey, even unto death.

Jesus' actions are ones we should emulate. We all need to take time to restore and renew our relationship with God, especially when we are discerning something important on our faith journey. Retreats are a great way to do this, as I have spoken about before and as you can find on therevtreysthoughts.blogspot.com.

As some are returning to work and as some are continuing to social distance and self isolate, it is important to take time to be present with God. Take some time, when you can, in the next week or so even, to do so.
