Forgiving the Criminal: Moses the Black

If you’re wondering what all God will forgive you of, the story of the criminal crucified with Jesus gives a pretty good answer. Only the worst of criminals in the Roman Empire were crucified, so this guy must have done some really bad things. He even admits as much. He also realizes that Jesus has done nothing wrong, and only asks Jesus to remember him. Jesus says that “today you will be with me in Paradise.”

Even though this man did something really wrong, Jesus is willing to forgive him. This happens after the criminal admits to his wrong-doings, gives glory to God in Jesus, and asks only the most humble of requests of our Lord.

If we come to God humbly and admit how much we need Him, God will forgive us of our wrong-doings. Take this opportunity to turn away from the bad and instead turn towards the good as we become closer to God in our Lord Jesus Christ.
