Paul lived both sides of the Gospel we read today. Before his conversion, he was one of the persecutors of Christians. After his conversion, he faced that persecution himself, even to the end of his life.
Paul knew more fully than most what he was getting himself into by following Christ Jesus. Yet he chose this path anyways.
We don’t always know what we will have to face or give up for the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ. Yet if Paul found it worth doing so, we can to. In the end, all that we face will be worth it, because we will have done so serving our Lord.
