In Encanto, the Madrigal family all have different powers they use to help the community that stems from this candle they received as a gift. When that candle goes out, they all lose their powers. When they are able to relight it, their powers come back.
That’s what Jesus is for us. In our Gospel, Jesus says He is the vine, and the people are the branches. Without Him, Jesus says, we can do nothing.
Jesus is the source of our power. Through Him we can do good in this world. Through Him we can do the work of God. Let us hold on to Him and never forget that without Jesus we can do nothing, but with Jesus we can do everything.
