Continuing Past Betrayal: Wednesday in Holy Week

Today we get one of those moments of marvel with Jesus.

Here is our Lord, getting ready to provide Salvation for the world. In doing so, He knows He will have to die. He also knows He will be betrayed by one of His own. Regardless of the evil one’s role in this betrayal, it still had to sting.

Judas’ betrayal is emblematic of who we are as humans. That it is necessary to the story of Salvation is baffling. Yet Jesus still goes through with His Death, even though we, as humanity, have given Him every reason not to.

That should make us stop and think.
