Representing Christ in Easter

In Easter, we remember the work God did for us through our Lord Jesus Christ in freeing us from sin through His Death and Resurrection. This could not happen if God was not manifest in this world. God's gift of Grace, the message of both Easter and our Faith, would not happen if God did not become human and dwell among us first.

It turns out that we have a role in God being made known in this world. In the "Outline of Faith" for The Book of Common Prayer, there is a section on Ministry which covers everyone from our Bishop, Priests, and Deacons throughout our Dioceses to our Lay Members in each parish. Every single one of these roles is called "to represent Christ and his Church."

God first came into this world through Jesus and made us whole through the Resurrection we celebrate during this Easter Season. God shown through to us in Christ Jesus' humanity. We are now called to help in that work. We are called to represent Jesus to others so that they might know that God came into this world and died for their sins as well as our own.

This Easter, I invite you to reflect on this role we all have a bit more. Think about how you represent Christ in your work and in your actions. Meditate on how others' relationships with Jesus are impacted by you. Strive even to see how your fellow Siblings in Christ represent our Lord in this world, and how you treat them as Ambassadors for Jesus on Earth.
