Visiting Elizabeth had to have been the best thing for Mary.
Yes, she knew that this Child she was carrying was Divine. After all, an angel told her. Yet there had to be a great deal of doubt, especially with the danger this pregnancy carried with it.
When she heads to Elizabeth’s house, Elizabeth who too was having a miracle baby, the first thing Mary heard was affirmation. The first thing she heard was a sign that she was not crazy and that, in fact, this Child show was carrying was Divine.
Sometimes we need a little help in our discernment. Sometimes we need assurance that we are on the right path. Elizabeth gave that for Mary. Now we can go and do the same for others.
