Outline:
Background:
- Summer 2021- Music Camp at St. Luke's Newtown
- Nick Mynyk, Choirmaster- came up with this method
- Used with Psalm appointed for each day
- Combines Lectio Divina and Praying in Color
- Way to help the children connect with Scripture
- We can all use this too
- Skill does not matter
- Used a version of this with VBS as well
- See Lectio Divina session for more details
- Way to Study Scripture
- Many forms this can take
- Steps for this method:
- Read Scripture Passage
- Take a word or phrase that jumps out at you
- Ask what the word/phrase makes you think of
- Write/draw something based on that thought
- Pioneered by Sybil MacBeth
- Basically it is a method to use drawing and art as a means to pray
- As a result, fits easily into Lectio Divina
- Can use this method for all kinds of prayer
- Can use other kinds of art too
- Music
- Tactile- ex. knitting
- Photography
- Etc.
