It’s interesting that the text from the Gospel for St. Luke’s Feast Day isn’t a healing or something related to Luke himself. It’s about who Jesus is. It’s about His role as Messiah.
St. Luke is one of the four main evangelist in the church, one of the writers of the Gospel. It wasn’t about himself, it was about spreading the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ.
If we are to be a parish named for St. Luke, we have to do the same. It’s not about us. It’s about Jesus.
