Faith Fact- All One in Christ

In Galatians 3:28, Paul tells us that
There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.
That means we are all equally beloved by God, just as we all come together to serve the Lord. We may do so differently as we all have our own individual and unique gifts, yet all our work is valued and important in serving God in this world.

This means we are also called to show the world that we are one with each other in our Lord Jesus Christ. That starts by showing our equality regardless of our difference, and that equality comes from the fact that God loves each and every one of us the same way, just as our Lord was willing to die for each and everyone of us, both individually and collectively.

It seems fitting that this reading from Galatians occurs on the Sunday closest to Juneteenth every 3 years in Year C of the Lectionary. In 2022, in fact, this reading occurred on the very day of Juneteenth! It is a reminder that we are called to end oppression in every form as all are called to be one in our Lord Jesus Christ.

No matter who you are or where you come from, God loves you, personally and deeply. Thank the Lord for that!
